Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+
When Bugatti broke the 300mph barrier in 2019 with a modified Chiron driven by Pilote Officie Andy Wallace, it took the world by storm. It became the fastest production car in history, marking a new benchmark of what a modern automobile could be. But it didn’t stop there. Bugatti has now released a limited edition version of the supercar to celebrate its 110th anniversary called the Chiron Super Sport 300+ that offers even more power and an incredible top speed.
Despite its hefty price tag and exclusivity, the Super Sport 300+ is a truly joyous experience to drive. Its massive power and bespoke aero enhancements allow it to reach 60mph in just 2.3 seconds and dismiss the quarter mile in 9.1 seconds flat.
There’s a lot that makes the Chiron Super Sport 300+ special but the biggest difference is its engine. It uses the tried and tested 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W-16 from the regular Chiron but is tweaked to produce an impressive 1578 horsepower. That might not get it to 304mph like the record-setting model but it’ll still be faster than any production car on the market.
Another major change comes in the form of a revised front end designed to reduce air resistance at high speeds. The main element is the visible long tail that extends further behind the front wheels and helps to reduce the aerodynamic stall by 40% while the rear diffuser and trailing edge have been redesigned to generate more downforce at lower speeds. The Super Sport’s rear spoiler is also now bigger and more prominent.
The car’s bespoke exterior is also meant to be as beautiful as it is fast. Its sleek bodywork is a nod to the Type 57 SC Atlantic that inspired the Chiron’s design, while its unique wing mirrors, LED strip, and wheels set it apart from other models. Its front section features vents that help the car to “slice through air” according to Bugatti.
Inside, the Super Sport is as opulent and comfortable as you’d expect from a car costing several million dollars. The seats hold you in place superbly and the carbon fiber throughout the interior saves weight.
The Super Sport is available to order now from your local Bugatti dealer with deliveries beginning this summer. Bugatti will make only 30 examples of the Super Sport 300+ so you might have a tough time getting your hands on one. However, the company has hinted it may offer owners the chance to experience a Super Sport’s astounding performance for themselves at the Ehra Lessien test track by offering them both a car and a day on the record-breaking track. bugatti super sport
